I love a good salmon recipe!!
I’ve been craving it lately. It’s so healthy!
Here’s a Super yummy recipe I found on Cafe Delites Pinterest Board.
This Teriyaki Salmon looks amazingly delicious too from Natasha’s Kitchen.
My recipe you ask? It goes a little something like this:
I like to marinate the fillets (usually 2) in some honey, teriyaki and garlic. Maybe add a squeeze of lemon. Let it sit for at least an hour in the fridge, flipping from time to time, then sear in a hot skillet. Serve it up with some oven roasted asparagus and jasmine rice and LOOK OUT!!
Not only are you getting a meal that is low in fat but your taste buds will be doing a happy dance!!

We recently spent some time on the beach.
Sidebar: We live a “stone’s throw” from some of the most beautiful beaches in the US – in my opinion – and we just don’t get out there very much, I’m sad to say.
Anyways, we went took the boat and some of the kids to the beach recently just for the afternoon. It was a gorgeous day! We really had a great time. I noticed my 14 yr old had been sitting in the softer sand for a while. Letting him do his thing, I just keep an eye on him. Eventually he got up and moved on to chasing a bird or something like that… boys will be boys.
I walked over to see what had held his concentration for such a long time and found this.
What I found absolutely melted me.
My 14 yr old, sometimes self absorbed, typical teenage son had been methodically carving a perfect heart in the sand.
What did this say to me? His heart is full of love.
Our hearts should be filled with love. We should give love without reservation. In return we will receive love.
See? It’s as simple as that.
Ok y’all. This ain’t pretty. I never could pull off the messy bun look, haha. 💁
What’s beautiful about this is that I am dedicated to a healthy life. For me, this means setting my alarm for 4AM.
This gives me one interrupted hour to focus on myself. 💪🏻
Do I WANT to get up? Heck no!! But I know the reward I feel when I check off my to do list before the sun comes up. ☀️

I recently came across all these amazing pictures from our wedding in 2014. It was a perfect day in so many ways…. the weather on the other hand was less than perfect. Torrential downpours. ALL. DAY. LONG.
We dreamed of an outdoor wedding with the sun setting behind us. Umm yeah, not gonna happen right?
About 45 minutes before the ceremony was scheduled to begin the rain stopped! Can you believe it?!
Our dream came true! We were about to marry each other on the water at sunset with our children, families and friends as witnesses.
I could really go on and on about this next statement: Our DREAMS came true in so many different ways! We were and continue to be undoubtedly blessed. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.
The Perfect Summer Sangria!!!
Slice (thin slices) one lemon and one lime
Core and slice 6-8 medium to large strawberries
Place sliced fruit into a clear pitcher
Add 1/2 cup rum (any rum will do!) I used Coconut Malibu
Add one bottle of Sauvignon Blanc (if you know me you know I do NOT like Sauvignon Blanc…. “Sauvignon Blah” is what I call it but it works really well with the fruit and rum.)
Put the pitcher with the fruit, rum and wine in the fridge and let it sit for at least 4 hours. I let mine sit overnight.
Just before serving add about 4 cups of Sprite and Voila!!
I like to serve in a small mason jar or stemless wine glass and garnish with fresh mint
