Must. Paint. Kitchen. Cabinets.

If there’s one project I’m not excited about its’ this one.  Don’t get me wrong.  I am very excited about the results but dreading the process.

This will come as a shock but I decided to use Annie Sloan Chalk Paint.  Ta, Da!  I really didn’t want to mess with a primer and then two to three coats of whatever kind of paint.  Of course this means I have to wax.  BUT, I’m really looking forward to the end result.  And I can’t emphasize END result enough. haha.

I played around with Country Gray and a couple other color combos but had my heart set on the Graphite.  My counter top is a marbled color combo.  See it?  DSC_4415

I knew the cabinets were going to be a charcoal-gray.  I’m so happy I found Graphite! It’s a really nice slate color.  The wax deepens the color to a rich dark charcoal.  And I love it!!DSC_4432

It took me about a week.  But it was worth it.  I worked on it at night and during the weekend.  Still need to touch up minor details and finish painting the walls.  I’m not a professional but I think they turned out really pretty!! I love how the wax gives it a sheen, too.  Check it out!DSC_4416DSC_4434
